DIRECTOR / CHIEF CURATOR COMMENTS
July 10th, 2006

John Neumann is a consummate sculptor. In his hands raw metal is transformed into fine art that can be gleaming stainless steel or embellished with paint. He manipulates volume, shape and line. His are not static pieces as no matter the shape - spheres, ellipses or squares - he is always concerned with capturing motion, clarity, excitement and elegance in perfect balance. He can craft smooth delicate minimalist pieces or straight-edged, geometric dynamic and powerful pieces. His work ranges from small table top pieces to work in excess of ten-feet tall. His sculptural forms spark curiosity in the viewer as every piece of Neumann's artwork contains a portion of his soul.
